Description

Apple Pie Oatmeal has all the flavours you love in an apple pie now in your morning oats!

Ingredients

Units

For the cinnamon apple topping (optional):

For the oatmeal:

  • 1 apple, chopped (leave peel on if preferred)
  • 1 cup almond milk (or milk of choice)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1-2 tbsp maple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 1 cup oats (rolled oats or quick oats)
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. To make the cinnamon apple topping, heat the coconut oil in a small skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the cubed apple, maple syrup, and cinnamon. Stir and cook for 2 minutes, then reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and cook for 8–10 minutes until tender. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. To make the oatmeal, in a small pot, add the chopped apple, almond milk, water, and maple syrup.
  4. Bring to a gentle boil over medium-high heat and cook for 4–5 minutes until the apples begin to soften.
  5. Stir in the oats, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Reduce heat to medium and cook for another 3–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the oatmeal reaches your desired consistency.
  6. Spoon into bowls, top with the cinnamon apple mixture, and enjoy warm.

Notes

  • Use rolled or quick oats.
  • Cook apples first so they soften.
  • Stir often to prevent sticking.
  • Adjust thickness with more liquid or extra cook time if needed.
  • Add toppings like nuts, raisins, nut butter, or granola.
